Located just north of Zionsville and west of Carmel, Westfield is home to roughly 30,000 residents. With recent construction on both the residential and commercial side, from 2000-2010 Westfield grew 323%, 6x faster than the rest of Hamilton County. It is easy to see why people have flocked to Westfield. Fantastic schools, affordable housing, and leadership with a unique plan for building and growing the city, have attracted families and young professionals alike.
The City of Westfield has two major developments planned for the next few years, Grand Junction and Grand Park. Grand Junction will be both a park and plaza, and serve as a central hub for downtown Westfield. With the majority of residents residing well outside of the city's center, Grand Junction will provide them with an opportunity to co-mingle with neighbors, take in shows, and enjoy family activities at the water park and ice rink. It will connect the two major trails that run through Westfield, and the space will be large enough to host concerts, theatre, and other outdoor events. Grand Park will be one of the largest outdoor sport venues in the Midwest. The 400-acre complex will be equipped with 26 baseball diamonds, 31 fields (rugby, soccer, football, etc), and 2 indoor facilities. Immediately adjacent to the park, developers are working on constructing an area dedicated to shopping, dining, and hotels for visitors. The goal is to attract the top athletic events to the area and allow visitors to have a completely self-contained experience (if they so desire.)
These developments have been directly and indirectly tied to a residential housing boom of sorts over the last decade and a half. With a variety of neighborhoods and planned communities, you can find a little bit of everything in Westfield.
